Procedures
Library Access
Before school, eat breakfast first, then ask to go to the library.
During lunch, eat lunch then request library pass. Must stay in library until bell.
After school, student is responsible for notifying parent of after school plans.
Follow KISD and Liberty Hill MS campus rules
Use talking voices.
No gum or candy.
Throw trash in trash cans and push chairs under tables.
Return books to librarian or library aide if no longer needed. Don’t return books to shelves.
Leave backpacks near the library entrance.
Suggest books that you would like to see in the library.
Computer Usage
1. Inform the staff that you need to use the computers.
2. Computer use is for school-related assignments and projects during instructional time, unless you have a pass from the teacher.
3. Treat school computers and equipment with care and respect. Do not remove, damage, or misuse any equipment or accessories.
4. School computers are set up for the maximum use of all students and staff. Students may not alter default settings.
5. Do not download, install, or remove any software on a school computer. Software installed on school computers is copyrighted. Do not copy, distribute, or alter it in any way.
6. Protect your password(s). Never share your password or computer access with others.
7. Do not change, copy, delete, read, or otherwise access computer or files that are not yours.
8. Students may not use school computers for personal communications.
9. Visit only school approved websites.
10. Never provide personal or other identifying information anywhere on the Internet. Protect yourself and others from cyber predators.
11. Avoid plagiarism. Always use proper citations when including images or text information from a website or electronic references.
12. School officials have the authority to impose discipline for harm caused by off campus online speech when that speech has, or a reasonable person would anticipate it will:
Cause an impact at school
Interfere with the rights of students to be secure and/or receive an education
And/or is a "true threat"
- Guide students in location and use of informational materials.
- Model research strategies.
- Assist in the selection of recreational reading materials.
- Provide computer resources/ Internet.
- Print outs (5 pages maximum) are for school assignments only.
- Follow KISD Acceptable Use Policy located in the KISD Student Code of Conduct.
- Support curriculum and instructional practices.
- Teach research mini-lessons.
- Accept requests and recommendations for information and reading materials.
